  1. This innovation is awesome. It cuts the cords so people don't have to be connected to the walls everywhere we go, or pay for expensive cell phone data plans. Major cities actually plan/have planned to make citywide wifi outlets, so that anywhere you go you are connected. This isn't free of course but it may be worth it for some people. It provides another way of the city to make some money. It provides a sense of freedom for cell phone and laptop users. Wifi can also be used at home. People don't have to be stuck sitting in their chair with their laptop but are free to move around while still being connected to the internet.

  2. Hunh. Sounds crazy, but this is the first REAL definition of Wi-Fi that I've ever gotten. It's all over the internet, cell phone, and even radio promotions! I know I should have "gotten with the program" earlier, but I just never found the inspiration to Google it or look it up on everyone's favorite crap shoot* (please excuse my verbiage)- Wikipedia. However, this seems extremely interesting in its technological sense. This really does expand our freedoms and privileges!

  3. Wi-Fi is a great invention. With Wi-Fi I have the ability to do two things at once. It's so convenient to watch kids and be able to be on the computer in the same room as them.
It enables me to keep an eye on them instead of being cooped up in my computer room and be cut off from everything else thats happening in other rooms. I think you could have added a little more to this blog however, like who actually created Wi-Fi and also when. But otherwise you did a good job with this post as well as your others!

  4. I agree with everyone WI-Fi is awesome. Right now im on my laptop using it. It seems like yesterday i was using dial up. Now thanks to technology i am able to use mu laptop without having cords and waiting on a slow phone signal. I also have a computer room and its so funny to think that i survived all my years in highschool with it.

  5. LIke everyone else here, I love wifi. I remember having to run cords throughout the house when we first moved into my parents current house, to get internet access to all the rooms that had computers. This summer I moved out on my own and to get internet access throughout the house, all I had to do was just type in a quick access code on my laptop.

  6. What else can I say but a necessity. The invention of this technology has made so many things easier. Allowing me to be on my computer in the kitchen to complete this assignment and still have internet and network connections. Granting faster download speeds on my phone rather than EDGE or 3G connection speeds is a great plus. The popularity has grown so much within the past couple years, that even your neighborhood coffee shop and books stores now provide it to their customers. Even major metropolitan areas are in support of this technology by building wireless wi-fi antennas all over to provide internet on the go.
